STAGE 4 TRACKING
STAGE 4: CHILECITO > COPIAPO
Connection 594km | Special Stage 315km | Total 909km
COURSE OVERVIEW
The competitors will have to prove they are worthy of entering Chile! A very early start and a climb to a height of 4,800 metres will precede the border crossing at Paso San Francisco. The really challenging section will begin with a gradual warm-up on the mining tracks, before drivers are faced with the reality of the Atacama Desert. The route here is open and sandy. Over the course of the last 40 kilometres, the giant dunes and basins of Copiapo will have to be tackled and for many this will be at night. Overcoming them will require finesse and instinct.
The GREEN section of the route is the connection , the RED is the Special Section of the stage.

Exactly---and they spent even more money to be able to do so!
[snark] I love Pugs. They're good dogs. [/snark]
Sainz and Terranova both thru WP7 trying to finish the special. Sainz +5:11:37, Terranova +5:27:18. Depres thru WP8 +3:10:22
sorry everyone can anyone give me a quick update as to what happen today with Robby?
Timing has been wonky all day, so as it looks now, finished 42nd, 1:23 back and overall looks to be 39th, 5:47
It would appear that ... Gordon, Terranova, Sainz and Despres ... will all be +5hour mid-pack neighbors ... before dawn's break ... jeje
Not too shabby company. All of those complaining about lack of testing, 2wd etc, etc. would do well to remember this. And all of those other notables spent a good deal more to achieve the same result.

With clutch and flywheel problem's both day's, makes me worried that that's going to be the weak link jmo
how he got clutch problems, he is using an automatic, with manual shift (just like the SST and Trophy trucks) on the rear engined Hummer he was running a 6 speed sequential, but with this car went with a more conventional off road package.
