STAGE 4 TRACKING
STAGE 4: CHILECITO > COPIAPO
Connection 594km | Special Stage 315km | Total 909km
COURSE OVERVIEW
The competitors will have to prove they are worthy of entering Chile! A very early start and a climb to a height of 4,800 metres will precede the border crossing at Paso San Francisco. The really challenging section will begin with a gradual warm-up on the mining tracks, before drivers are faced with the reality of the Atacama Desert. The route here is open and sandy. Over the course of the last 40 kilometres, the giant dunes and basins of Copiapo will have to be tackled and for many this will be at night. Overcoming them will require finesse and instinct.
The GREEN section of the route is the connection , the RED is the Special Section of the stage.

What part of the car is the "flex plate"? Sorry not a gear head, just an avid fan.
They are good!! 50 minutes to replace that, and have no other problems!! Great job RG and JC!
The flex plate replaces a standard flywheel as a way of reducing the "moment of inertia" that would result from a heavy flywheel. It provides the gear for the starter to spin the engine. A light weight insert, sometimes referred to as a "button flywheel" replaces the normal flywheel. This is a common racing engine way to lower the mass of the flywheel to allow the engine to rev up free of the inertia of the flywheel.
It's the connection between the engine and transmission it also serves as a starter gear (ring gear) mount. the starter turns the ring gear to start the engine. A very critical part that needs checked (maged every chance you get) because it's stamped steel construction
In the same area as the problem day before.. Clutch Hugh up day before.. Now broken flex plate...Hmmm. I really do not think it was the flex plate..You would have to remove trans to replace it.. There is really nothing there to fix except replace it
Day three was brakes, never heard anything about clutch
Day 3 was brakes, at first... Got stuck then the clutch would'nt engage or something after the brakes.
ok I do remember the video talking about that..... I bet it's all replaced tonight
