STAGE 10 TRACKING

STAGE 10: CALAMA > SALTA

Connection 501km | Special Stage 359km | Total 860km

COURSE OVERVIEW

The motorcyclists and quad bikers will set off for their second marathon stage! After the Chile-Argentina border, this time the day’s special stage will start on the Salinas Grandes, more than 3,600m above sea level. The altitude should curb the competitors’ enthusiasm and cool down their engines. The more technical final phase will separate the toughest of them from the rest. For the liaison section, the route will then follow the Paso de l’Acay, at an altitude of 4,970m.

The GREEN section of the route is the connection , the RED is the Special Section of the stage.

From Dakar.com, at least RG is still getting some press...

08:02 Cars: Al-Attiyah wants to get it over and done with
With a 24-minute lead over Giniel De Villiers at the start in Calama, Nasser Al-Attiyah will be hoping to make a conclusive breakaway from his Toyota team rival on the way to Salta. Yazeed Alrajhi is now solidly installed in third place whilst Stéphane Peterhansel, Robby Gordon and Krzysztof Holowczyc are still seeking their first stage victory of the year.

I think it will be very interesting to hear his honest assessment of the Gordini when this rally is over and done with, and what changes will come. Aside from the early brake and flexplate issues, he's been fairly competitive - but obviously not the speed king we've seen in past rallys. It's still been a blast to follow and proves, once again, how difficult this race really is.

Chat will be up sometime around 11:00am/et

Does anyone here know the time that the cars will start today

TOG includes the time in the Discussion opening info, so that's always a great place to look. Today's starts @ 10:45am/et

Thanks Jaci for the information. I will from now on look at the start of each days stage. I hope to find each day the live timing page that was posted also! Great page

Herbie's done.

Well he was fun to follow while he lasted.

Just a flesh wound lol

No, he can run on three tires.

Sometimes in the movies he did it on 2 wheels!

On Visser, 353 is shown in the 63rd start position today. Hope he can soldier on!

data dump might be the phrase of this year DAKAR tracker. The other seemingly inconsistent thing is the withdrawal list.I don't trust it,haven't since probably the 3 stage
