STAGE 11: SALTA > TERMAS DE RIO HONDO
Connection 326km | Special Stage 194km | Total 520km
COURSE OVERVIEW
The rally will continue on two separate routes, following the famous Ruta 40 and winding through its magnificent landscapes. Drivers won’t have time to relax on these fast routes though: the fatigue which will have accumulated by the 11th day of the race (the 4th marathon day for the motorcycles and quads!) will demand maximum concentration on both the route and the road-book. In the cockpits of the cars and trucks, the watchword will also be vigilance; these tracks are often lined with trees.
The GREEN section of the route is the connection , the RED is the Special Section of the stage.

One thing you have to come to understand is what motivates RG is much more than simply driving. From running his own Indy car team, own NASCAR team, Dakar team and many other racing enterprises, the motivation is not simply driving for a "factory" team, but conceiving, designing, managing the construction of his own vehicles, driving them, finding the sponsorship etc., etc. If he were simply driven by driving to first place, he would not have left Foyt and Walker in Indy, or RCR in NASCAR. This is about doing it ALL to the best of one's ability, not about doing a little part of it for someone else. The other thing you need to understand is that your phrase "we are the 14th LOSER" is completely off the mark. You or any of us---the collective we---are not members of the team. "We" have nothing at all to do with it. Either you have respect for the efforts of the team, indeed all of the teams if you truly love motor-sports, or you don't. But you're not one of the team, only an observer.
NO...14th LOSER is NOT off the mark.,...you are smoking the Planet weed. RG says....2nd is the FIRST LOSER.,....so he will the the nth LOSER...his language his assessment...NOT MINE NOT YOURS.
NOW, I do agree with you...I would much rather see him build his own stuff......win one stage and come in 15th (ie the 14th LOSER). Mano a Mano....you get it? I'm not judging him based on MY CRITERA...HE IS JUDGING HIMSELF based on HIS criteria....so don't give me shit...it it RGs criteria fool. READ his quotes. I AGREE with YOU.....YOU just don't agree with RG.
that sounds ok only on RG words.
I dont need a HUG TOG....Ive been a winner...and it took everything i had and almost killed me...and RG knows that...because it almost killed him
its RG that needs a HUG....and I TOTALLY agree with him and fully support him...his shop, his design, his cars, his way...final place is irrelevant
@Jeffrey Smith, I'm not seeing your name in the DAKAR record book as a winner. Help us out with the info on your success?
You said, and I quote, "we are the 14th looser"---not that RG said he was----"we" are nothing, only fans. Neither you nor any of us have any part in the decision. "We" ---when did you become a member of the team?
oh Jesus.....position is position.,...I had nothing to do with it....positive or negative, and neither did you
the point is...and someone else mentioned this...did you see the smile on his face??? that is all that matters
Of course RG is going to do the best he can with what he has. That's exactly the point---those decisions are his and his alone. It is not for any of us to second guess whether he should give up his dream of designing and building and racing his own stuff, adopting 4wd, or driving for a factory team if that would assure a win. That is the team's decision, not fans. Fans are fans, and are important. But they are not members of the team, and have no role in team decision making.
