RUSTY WALLACE TO COMPETE IN OFF-ROAD TRUCK RACE AT X GAMES

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- NASCAR Hall of Famer Rusty Wallace will briefly return to competition by driving in Off-Road Truck Racing at the upcoming X Games.

Wallace retired from NASCAR competition after the 2005 season, and has periodically been back in a race car, including a test session in Brad Keselowski's Sprint Cup car at Daytona in 2014.

But the X Games in Austin held June 5-7 will be the 58-year-old Wallace's first time competing in Off-Road Truck Racing. His truck will be sponsored by Jimmy John's.

The Off-Road Truck racing competition will feature identically-prepared 600-horsepower trucks, all leased from Robby Gordon.

The trucks reach speeds up to 120 mph and hit man-made ramps at multiple locations throughout the course. The Baja-style race trucks will negotiate the seven-turn course made of both dirt and asphalt.

I hope so. The day that the other energy drink companies let there drivers join in on this is the day that the series takes over. Pastrana, Block, Foust, Speed, Rob Mac, McGrath, Deegan, The Leducs, Menzies...could you imagine that lineup? Fingers Crossed!!!

....holy crap...great line-up. That would be nothing short of BAD ASS!!!

Looks like Rusty is back in town http://youtu.be/A20LOCBl6D8

They need a truck for the Race 2 Recovery guys. They didn't get to race their car at Dakar this year and it would be good exposure for both Robby and the R2R guys.

Jayski has a mention of this. Wish he would mention it was Robby's SST series Rusty was racing in.

Even NASCAR.com is FINALLY giving Robby some love

Funny how the Martelli's are alway's bitchin about other promoters. Especially after their Mint400 Debacle this year.

Well that was a fairly crappy (IMO) article.
Yeah. I read it this morning. Matt doesn't seem to realize how the series operates, especially from a monetary(sponsorship) standpoint.
