The primary reason for running the two events was to build test miles in race conditions. Winning was just the cherry on top.

I'm sure RG ruffled feathers in the Mango Racing camp, who have pretty much 'owned' the Dos Mares race and are also the title sponsor. Given that, I'm curious if RG is going to let Gary Magness keep his cool trophy.

Good morning from LaPaz! Fixing a few battle scars from the #DosMares500 win, then heading back home. It was a successful week of racing and testing for the Gordini! Thanks Planetrobby for the pic

I bet Robby is as pleased as Baja Punch!

After looking at a number videos from the two races, it looks like they tightened up the suspension on the Gordini since Dakar, it was going thru the corners WRC like, and that's Good news for the next Dakar.

Great news out of the Robby Gordon camp...Congrats.........all that other stuff (drama) I carve off before it goes on the grill.

Did Robby win against TT's and Class 1's? That's pretty cool if he did.

I think it's been said in this thread, but I'm being lazy. I think I read that the motor an unrestricted for these races. If this is correct, I'm thinking Robby ran an unrestricted LS-7 motor, and not a full-tilt high horsepower TT race engine.

Here again, that is pretty cool.

Robby needs these test, and he needs positive results.

Two (or more) healthy, proven reliable, Gordini's will show nicely in Dakar. It will make for a great two weeks!

Now, will this be enough to actually beat X-Raid? X-Raid is tough to beat! I think it's enough to nip at their heels and that alone it great racing to watch!

We may be real competitive if the Dakar rule makers give us a bigger hole to breath this beast...

At first thought, I think, "Why the heck would they do that?"

But on second thought, perhaps they would. They are not stupid people. They have to know that a close competitive battle up front makes for great racing.

It's a great race, and I love following it, but racing is funny, if someone or some team dominates year after year, it just is not that fun to watch/follow.

Recall a couple of years ago, Peterhansel and X-Raid would complain about the rules favoring the 2WD cars. They were getting nervous, and they did what they could to swing the advantage back their way. I'm not saying rules were changed because they pissed and moaned. I'm only pointing out that their belly-aching was all part of what they would do to negotiate to gain an advantage.

There's definitely a liability on the part of the governing body, when you have cars built to different specs racing against each other.

The DosMares 500 event is rumored to be harder than the NORRA event.Yes RG raced a few TT's and Cl#1's in that event.
The engine used was a built for a restrictor LS7, ran un- restricted. My guess,500hp.
I'd say G2 is systems checked and ready for a freshening and on to DAKAR 2016

I agree Mike, G2 is ready!

I hope Robby keeps after the prep. I'd love to see G1 & G2 in the Vegas to Reno race this year.

Driver #2 and Nav #2 need some seat time in G2. There is no getting around this. I sure hope it's not a last minute install of driver #2, come December.

But as you told me many time, Sh_i_t in one hand, and wish in the other...

But I'm the eternal wisher. I want Jason Voss to go to Dakar with Robby.

What about RPM? Robby often does well when he teams up with them. Obviously there is a friendship here. Would this mean Clyde Stacy driving in Dakar then? But not necessarily. Is Clyde the right guy for the driving job?

RPM, has more drivers than Clyde.

I'd love to see them do V2R with the G1 and/or G2.
