Those Gordoni Toyo's are M/T-R® ... no sipes ... are they DOT approved ... street-legal for highway use ?

good question,it was a debated rule during DAKAR..I've never seen RG's tires in person to answer that question.

the pic you posted is crop'd just after your question.
Big picture,it doesn't matter.The DAKAR/FIA rule is the tire must be commercially available to all competitors entered.And this tire is.DAKAR/FIA does not require DOT certification , as that is only a US specification.And it is really only a method of documentation for the government to issue recalls.

I totally agree Mike ... Gordini #1 was DAKAR/FIA approved ... with the restrictor ... for rally raid purposes
