Loeb didn't have a very good debut in Morocco. Finished the day 3h24m behind Yazeed due to mechanical issues.
Interesting to see that none of the Dakar will be held in Peru this year, by request of their government. From what I could gather ( and I may not have things quite correctly) they are worried about the expected El Nino, and the sorts of trouble it might cause for their citizens, and don't want to be put in the position of having to worry about a bunch of race cars too.
That's the politically correct version. Sounds more like a pay-to-play deal.

Loeb is without a doubt, fast. The Peugeot is hyped as a new rocket ship on wheels that will be impossible to beat. We shall have to wait and see on the second part.
Loeb is FAST on flat precise routes...lets see how he does on blind dunes and open terrain. I'll reserve judgement on the new Peugeot, It'd surprise me if a brand new car survives the entirety, not to mention their suspension issues. Looking forward to watching them, the Fleet off Minis (11), and Toyotas (5?) compete against the Gordini(s).
