Xbox has inked a special deal with Stadium Super Trucks boss and driver Robby Gordon
Stadium Super Trucks kingpin Robby Gordon has landed an unexpected boost with Xbox aligning itself with his Traxxas truck at the Castrol Gold Coast 600 this weekend.
The truck has welcomed Xbox One Halo 5 Guardians livery as the Stadium Super Trucks finish its debut series of four races at the Surfers Paradise track.
The involvement from Xbox sees the gaming giant extend its association with motorsport in the past month across the globe with partnerships with the Lotus F1 Team, DJR Team Penske and NASCAR.
“To transform into the Xbox and Halo 5 Guardians livery is very exciting for the entire Stadium Super Trucks Series,” Gordon said.
“Xbox is a great brand that is all about having fun and departing from the normal rigours of life, kind of like Stadium Super Trucks.
“So we’re really ecstatic that the Halo 5 Guardians here has jumped on board for Sunday’s round of Stadium Super Trucks at V8 Gold Coast.”
Head of Xbox Jeremy Hinton says the initial partnership is a good fit for the company.
“It is huge, when you have global names involved like Robby Gordon, Matt Brabham, Paul Morris and Burt Jenner,” Hinton said.
“Plus some hot youngsters like X Games gold medalist Sheldon Creed and Scotty Steele – who are both still teenagers, it’s a great fit for us.
The deal comes as Gordon finished third in behind Sheldon Creed and Scotty Steele in Race 3 of the Super Trucks.
The 11-truck field will head to Sydney next weekend for a unique double bill with the sprintcars at the Valvoline Speedway for the final leg of the whistle-stop two series tour.
