STAGE 1 CANCELLED DUE TO POOR WEATHER



Join in and discuss all the action from Stage 1 of the 2016 Dakar Rally. Robby Gordon will drive the #312 Speed Energy/Traxxas/Toyo Tires Gordini, and his teammate, Sheldon Creed, will drive Gordini #337. The special section of Stage 1 is 258km long. Robby Gordon start time: 10:15am/et, Sheldon Creed start time: 10:19am/et. Raceday chat will be available throughout the entire 2016 Dakar Rally.

COURSE OVERVIEW

Argentina is a country of mountains, in all forms. Although the first stage is not yet at altitude, the summits are well and truly visible. The wheels of the vehicles follow sinewy and undulating tracks, with the exception of the first, faster, part of the special section. A partial separation of the categories will ensure dangerous overtaking is avoided.

 The GREEN section of the route is the connection , the RED is the Special Section of the stage.

Well, I sent the Dutch guy an email. Asked him to add Sheldon in the second Gordini. So that is fixed! I guess that concluded the work for the day. Back to bed.
Still don't know what SCI is. lol

I could go balance the checkbook and pay some of those ugly Holiday bills. But Naaaah. I just watched the 7min video of the small jump section and learned alot. I noticed the drivers who know how to set up their car for the jump and those who did not or do not know how to set up their rig for a jump. RG set up nicely for it. Sheldon just drove over the jump, letting the car roll over the jump without setting it up. Others looked much worse.Some even stayed hard on the throttle, which is a drive train killer. But DAM, someone needs to check the power of those GODZILLA Fire breathing Yotas... Man those things sound mean!
