BC over on The Hot Pass is reporting...

"Word is that the vice president of motorsports at DEI, John Story has returned to his former stomping ground at Robby Gordon Motorsports...tough times indeed!"

As Spotted Cow once said... "Can't tell the players without your program!"

Aaaaaa.... Look what happened to DEI during the MAX/John saga...

I don't know. What did John really do for RG while he was there? I don't think it was anything permanent because when he left the team was not structured. Managers are responsible to leave lasting company structure and process'.

Maybe John will give RG more free time for personal stuff.

Maybe John has a connection for a second team, other than that, best of luck.

I hope everyone involved had plenty of time to think about what could'a should'a and git r dun!
First order of business for John Story is to book Robby at the Rockingham "m-ville" test track, cause he blows at that track and will NEVER crack the top 20 in points unless he picks up his half mile program.I don't care about the shoulda-woulda-coulda runs he has had in the past, bottomline is his finishes on the short tracks absolutely suck.
Tog,
You know I agree with you on short track testing. I have said so many times. What I would like to see him do is run some late models down here. I remember when Geoff Bodine first headed South and came down to Caraway Speedway in Asheboro. I was there that night. He beat Sam Ard at Caraway and I knew he was going to make it in Cup that night. Robby needs to run with some of these boys some. He will get a lot more comfortable around the short tracks if he does.
I understand he hates them and I guess that if I were him and didn't do any better at short tracks than he does I would hate them too. But if he wants to be good at them he doesn't need to run away from them he needs to run right at them. He is missing out on a lot of fun and fun that would help him with his Cup program.
Just my .02.

The bigger question here is this: Who was steering the ship since John left the first time? Did RG FINALLY fire that person's SORRY ASS? I mean please, that person OBVIOUSLY has no business sense or knowledge of how to run a race team. At least JS knows the way things should be done and try to hire the right folks this time. TOG is right, it's a buyers market right now so quality people shouldn't be hard to come by. But also the REAL quality people still have a job in racing so it may be slim picking. I think the left overs is all that RGM will be getting if they are able to hire anyone "extra". Let's just hope RG gives him enough rope to do what's right. Whoever the other person was just helped get RG lower in the points this year than last!
