STAGE 4 TRACKING

STAGE 4: SAN SALVADOR DE JUJUY > SAN SALVADOR DE JUJUY

Connection 201km | Special Stage 418km | Total 619km

COURSE OVERVIEW

Marathon 1: No Mechanics! On many levels, the competitors face their first real test here. The special section takes place at an average of 3,500m altitude, with incessant changes in pace resulting from alternating sandy and rocky terrain. This grueling route will be on the agenda when everyone already has 2,500km in the saddle or bucket seat, which is already exhausting for the lower placed drivers. First and foremost, this is the start of a very particular marathon stage, with a closed area for the vehicles... and for the competitors.

The GREEN section of the route is the connection , the RED is the Special Section of the stage.

Still no word on the Penalty. As soon as we find out something from the team, we will let you know.

I just looked at the Dakar tracking results and they must have added the 4 + minutes to Sheldon since he is now shown as 26th on the stage +21:38. Refreshed the .nl tracker and same thing.

Sheldon has been penalised 10 mins on today's stage.
The 1 hour for Robby was added to his stage 2 time and pushed him down to 68th on that stage. There were a ton of penalties on that stage but nothing for Robby until it got added earlier today.

Yeah , looks like Sheldon Creed got a 10 minute penalty in Stage 4

Now listed in 26th place, +21m38s behind

I was afraid that was going to happen. As much as I wanted to believe there were some good navigation skills to gain Sheldon 4 mins over the entire field between those two waypoints I had a bad feeling a penalty would be coming.

Any hopes for a win now are over. Now hopefully the boys can pull out a stage win or two and possibly a top ten..

Not trying to be to much of a homer but the time is relative to the overall leader. Overall leaders have fallen out or have been issued penalties as well. As long as the 312 and 337 are in and running competitively there is always a chance.

The problem isn't the time they are back of the leader. The problem is the 20+ good drivers/teams ahead of Creed and 30+ ahead of RG. Even if Gordon makes up an hour on the field you still have to rely on a dozen top drivers having significant trouble. Wish it weren't so.

What in the world would be worth a 1:04:00 penalty?

This is a joke, always against Robby.
