STAGE 6 TRACKING

STAGE 6: UYUNI > UYUNI

Connection 181km | Special Stage 542km | Total 723km

COURSE OVERVIEW

The longest special section of the Dakar takes place on the 6th day of consecutive racing. And that is not the only difficulty of this operation, which will take place between 3,500 and 4,200m in altitude. The pace and surfaces change constantly, alternating between sand and rock, which may be disconcerting, especially if it rains. Glimpses of the Salar d’Uyuni are but one of the visual delights on the agenda. Meanwhile, the truck category, which will race separately on this 6th stage, will visit the home town of the President Evo Morales.

The GREEN section of the route is the connection , the RED is the Special Section of the stage.

That is a positive. Now they can just have some fun and see what happens. Stage wins. Gas on.

Looks like Creed had the spare part RG needed, quick swap when in hand and back on track. Shame for the 90 minutes...
At least 337 didn't drive on by like the Hummer a few years back, looking for a llama tacos.

hahaha I remember that Eliseo Salazar

That would be a "you'll never work in this town again" move. Not gonna happen!

Dang I checked the tracker before a meeting and swear it said the race was over and RG was in 6th. Now I check and he is way behind. What a change of emotions. I need to find a way to take Dakar week off work.

Here is to stage wins the second half of the rally. And when I mean stage wins, I'd take a 4th place behind the PUGS, as it appears RG is tracking closely with the other cars when he is running full tilt.

In past years the ASO was pretty good about field updates. I guess they're too busy sniffing the Peugeot seats to care anymore.

+1 I kept checking but ASO did not have news updated for over an hour...nothing but truck crap.

Yeah car updates stopped after 1 - 2 -3 pug list

The Gordinis are fast! without the Peugeots (another league) this could have been the year...

Now watch the ASO let RG win his time penalty dispute and change it to 10 minutes or something. Of course it doesn't matter to them now that he lost 90 minutes and they can pretend they care to try and lure RG back...

Now let's see the time they make between WP11 and WP12. That should give us an idea about the seriousness of the problem as of this moment.

I don't understand Spanish, but if I did I would think this guy on the Bolivian TV would sound something like a Waltrip calling a NASCAR race.
