First the turbocharged Minis and now the turbo pugs have dominated all the high altitude stages over the past five years.

Ford is getting back into racing in a big way with Ecoboost prototypes at Daytona 24 and now with their GT program at Le Mans. Maybe they want to sponsor Gordon to go kick some euro ass in Dakar.

Do they make a EcoBoost diesel?

since FORD is in cahoots with Peugeot/Citroen on their small diesels

I think Ford needs to look at a diesel setup like the Mini's and Pugs
Not sure lack of speed is the main concern quite yet, windshield wipers have cost more time than power...
The Ford eco-boost V6 is incredible motor and has Tons of race technology put into it. I believe it would be a no-brainer to bring it to Dakar. It's going to be the main motor offered in the raptor next year!!
Im all about the ls, how bout a diesel vette?
Problem a Ecoboost racing engine would have a heavy fuel economy, especially when it is hot. Does not apply to the diesels

No brainer? It doesn't fit the rules!

You know I'll be going crazy if Ford hops on board

First of all Robby is a Chevy guy, not a Fix Or Repair Daily guy. Second of all if Robby wanted a turbo or a turbo diesel, all he would have to do is look at the Duramax diesel. After all the four banger puts out 195 HP and 395 torque in the stock engine.

Duramax is a bread truck engine...

In 2009, Lynn Goodfellow posted a 341+ standing mile at the Bonneville Salt Flats .
His stream liner was powered by a Duramax.
It had a pair or turbos linked in series, so there was a great amount of BOOST.
Just an FYI, fwiw.
