STAGE 9 TRACKING

STAGE 9: BELEN > BELEN

Connection 111km | Special Stage 285km | Total 396km

COURSE OVERVIEW

This loop stage will not really be one for motorbikes and quad bikes, which will finish the first part of this second marathon stage in an isolated bivouac. Prior to this they will have spent the day, alongside the drivers in the other categories, almost entirely off-piste, both in the vegetation-scattered dunes and on harder terrains, sometimes on river beds. Physically, the day might prove to be a significant challenge, as the mercury soars. The hardiest drivers will also be those who are the most clear headed, able to make the right navigational choices, a major challenge of this special section.

The GREEN section of the route is the connection , the RED is the Special Section of the stage.

RGM.... Not proven anything yet.

True but but but.

RGM needs a full season of rally racing, not just trying to cherry pick Dakar.

Until this year, or until you just said it, I never knew Dakar was a Rally Race.

Rally Raid, another name for something that is not WRC or Baja
If Robby asks, Sheldon will stick with him.

I don't see any teams being interested in an american driver for Dakar. It's so much like Formula One in regards to how little Americans care about Dakar. Foreign teams will want to sign drivers from their country.
He has to win a stage or have really stood out. They look for Bike standouts i e Cyril Depres

I think with all this madness from ASO we can definitely count RG out for next year unless the final stages go off without a hitch and he gets some top 5's,

I learned a long time ago to Never Count Robby's Chickens For Him.

He is like a box of chocolates.

Good point.

Too much invested in the Dakar Program. I'm interested in seeing how the race plays out next year, from an organization standpoint.
