COURSE OVERVIEW

The Fiambala dunes have become one of the decisive stages of the Dakar. This year, they feature at the heart of the most critical rally sequence, when drivers and their vehicles will have to demonstrate their aptitude for extreme endurance. Moreover, the day’s stage presents the longest dune section in the shared history of the Dakar and Fiambala, off-piste for most of the time. In short, an open door for desert specialists.

The GREEN section of the route is the connection , the RED is the Special Section of the stage.

My folks owned a 59 they bought used. It was the only Corvette in the town I grew up in. A college kid convinced him to sell it to him. Gave him $300 more then he paid (a ton in 1961)

Dad gets dropped off at home in the Vette,

Mom: Bill who's driving our Corvette,
Dad: Great news I sold it...
Mom WTF (I imagined that part)
Dad: but I got $300 more for it.
Mom: WTF
Dad: Sorry.

They went to the chevy dealer the next week and ordered the 62 new. Dad promised her he would never sell it. Mom lived until 2011 and he kept his promise....

bent the driver front rim a little on the bead area , hit it with a hammer to stop the slow leak , wheeled the rest of the weekend with no problems
