STAGE 12 TRACKING

STAGE 12: SAN JUAN > VILLA CARLOS PAZ

Connection 450km | Special Stage 481km | Total 931km

COURSE OVERVIEW

There is more than 900km to cover on the day before the finish, including more than half in the special section, with the exception of the trucks, whose dimensions are not suitable for some of the tracks on the agenda. In this semi-mountainous terrain, the vegetation which lines their edges might be a bit tight for them! This means that the other vehicles will also have to show dexterity. Fans of pure driving will be at ease, but they’ll have to watch out for blunders: at this stage in the game, a mistake could cost them dearly.

The GREEN section of the route is the connection , the RED is the Special Section of the stage.

Don't believe so because sainz has fell out of a couple of these and still retains his

So, the trick is to Quitar?

No

TOG said earlier that their is nothing RG can do to fall off elite status. Also if you look at earlier stages the Gordini's was staying with the Toyo's and Mini's when not broke. Don't know what is going on now.

RG will ALWAYS be Elite if and when he runs the Dakar.

IF!!

Always-

I have been following Robby since 2009 and did not missed one single stage of the Dakar, since the Monster Hummer, to the year Nasser destroyed one, the first year of the HST (AKA Gordini) and the vapor lock issues… We used to complain about the Minis and Peterdick those days… But somehow Robby always managed to be faster (much faster withe Hummer) in some terrains and scare the big factory teams, now I don't know man, sorry my english I'm from Argentina. Anyway!! GO ROBBY GOOOO

i agree , i think the hummer was a much better setup

The Hummer has sailed. In order to see RG in the Dakar he has to be able to pay for the car. The SST based Gordini uses many parts that are tested and available through his normal parts bin. It is far more economical to run the Gordini then a one off chassis just for the Dakar. Now the performance comparison is not quite fair. The Hummer did well enough to win stages true, but the competition has improved dramatically. The BMW $$, Toyota $$, and now the Pug $$ made the other teams better.

What RG needs is to eliminate part failures. This will be the emphasis for next year. If you finished 8 minutes back every stage you would be in 2nd place right now. Endurance is just as important as speed.

Or just put fuel in the car? ;-)

Roger that....
