STAGE 13 TRACKING

STAGE 13: VILLA CARLOS PAZ > ROSARIO

Connection 519km | Special Stage 180km | Total 699km

COURSE OVERVIEW

Aspiring winners will certainly be those who find the 180km of the day’s special section the most difficult, designed with twisty, undulating routes, faster sandy and rocky sections… leading to significant levels of stress. For most of the others, the 699km to be covered before reaching the podium in Rosario will be a relief. To be enjoyed without moderation…

The GREEN section of the route is the connection , the RED is the Special Section of the stage.

a little bit sad with the results but i hope next year will be The year of RG.

Next up: King Of Hammers in an Arctic Cat Wildcat

then why isn't the header changed already..... :)

Another entertaining two weeks through the toughest racing on the planet. Stuffs an entire season of drama into just fourteen days, better than day time soap operas- cheating, scandals, helmet thefts, fires, floods, helicopter invasions of the evil director/dictator. Wow!!!

I'm amazed again at what Robby accomplishes. He is my hero of Dakar, just like every other privateer that runs it.

I do hope he comes back and I'd love to see some other Americans join. Now that he was able to bring Sheldon, he's proven that the stadium truck concept can work. Perhaps he can convince more of the SST crowd to join in next year and we'd have a true multi car effort.

Let's think big, just like Robby already does!

Gas on Team Speed!!!
TOG, Mike, and all of the others, thank you for a great ride! We the fans appreciate it and unlike many, hope we are back at it next year. Hell I am a Tennessee Vol football fan. You don't give up after a bad streak.

thanks also ,, really glad we have a place like this to go to check on robbys doings all year but especially the dakar , huge fan and once again thanks to all involved.

Dakar winner could take “months” to confirm after protest

The results of the Dakar Rally in the car category could take “months” to be confirmed, according to sporting director Marc Coma.
Although Peugeot’s Stephane Peterhansel is heading towards a likely 12th career Dakar win, with a lead of 41 minutes overall with just Saturday’s final stage to go, the result will remain provisional due to the rival X-raid team’s protest after the eighth stage.

The controversy surrounds whether or not Peterhansel was permitted to refuel midway through the stage, with Peugeot boss Bruno Famin saying the refuelling point was listed in the roadbook, and X-raid chief Sven Quandt arguing this was only for bikes and quads.

Officials concluded that, because the rules were open to interpretation, that Peterhansel should not be penalised – a decision that has been contested by X-raid, whose appeal could take until March to process, according to Coma.

"Never before in the Dakar do I remember having a situation like this," commented rally director Etienne Lavigne.

Well it does appear the ASO loves their Pugs....

Cute
I add my thanks to TOG and Mike, and to the rest of the Planeteers. Thanks you. It's always fun to hang out and cheer on RG and his team. I also hope to see him and a slate of SST drivers at Dakar 2017 no matter what continent they race on. I have hopes of being there in person someday. God bless your 2016.
