Any NASCAR fans, or maybe I should say "Former NASCAR Fans" here on the Planet? I'm quite old, but not too old to write. Please accept my invitation to come and read a sample of my work.
Also, please allow me to thank everyone on the DAKAR Forum for keeping me up to date on Team Speed throughout. I'm not really up on Rally racing, and I would have been lost without the posts here.

Thank you PattyKay , and thank you for following DAKAR along with us.
MIke
Mike, the same day you replied here, Ning locked me out for 5 days. This is the first day I could get into the Planet since last Thursday night. A gentleman from my ISP (which also could not access the Planet) finally got through on Monday. I gave him my password so that he could get through to someone on the "issue report" feature. It wasn't the site. It was a problem with Ning, and I had the same problem with another site about 4 years ago. Some little glitch in their computer sees my ISP as something evil and they shut out the entire area.
I'm not sure who receives the trouble reports, but I suspect you might be involved. If so, thanks; if not you, then please pass along my thanks to whoever worked the miracle.
I wasn't too sure about posting my article here. I don't want to be seen as some sort of spammer. I am obviously an old-time NASCAR fan with the emphasis on "old." I found Robby when he was running the Mickey Thompson Stadium Trucks back in the 1980s and have loved him ever since. I wish NASCAR had agreed with me. :)
Is it OK to post articles here? I truly don't want to offend anyone, and I'm not up on your protocol. Please, be my guide.
Happy to be back!

Thanks Mike! Sarah already sort of told me that, so I put up my new one today. Love writing and love my readers. :)
Hey PattyKay! Long time no see. Hope all has been well with you.
As to your question, I enjoyed Nascar in the 'old' days. Fell in love with Bobby Allison as a kid and was hooked. There are a lot of people here who enjoyed Nascar at one time or another. Some still do. There are even some who still wish or dream of Robby having one more ride in a Cup car.
Don't be afraid to ask questions as needed. Folks here are pretty nice and are willing to help.
Hi Sarah! Yes, it's been quite a while. In all honesty, I only think to come here when Robby is doing something I want to follow. Heaven knows, the TV isn't much help there. I've followed NASCAR through 3 generations of the France family. Kind of wish I'd stopped at 2. I do love to write about it though, since it's all I know enough about to write, so I hang around, not for the racing, but for the chance to write.
If I wasn't used to some of Ning's follies I would have thought I'd been bounced when I couldn't access the Planet for several days, but I knew the problem. Finding a way to tell someone I had a problem was something else. Could not access the Ning site at all. Forget the phone. No humans to be found there. The nice lady on the recording tells you all about Ning.com and Help.Ning.com. If I could have gotten there, I would have been back sooner! Sheesh!
I know we can't live without these infernal machines now, but they are something else when they don't work! LOL
Thank you. I pride myself on doing my utmost to present the facts and still make it interesting. Check out the rest of our site when you have time. www.racefansforever.org
Thank you PattyKay. I guess I would say that I am a 'fairly' new racing fan. I do enjoy following and 'watching' Robby race. I have learned a lot from the members on the planet here. I still watch some NASCAR and enjoyed reading your article on making the racetracks 'better' for the fans.
Thanks Barb. It's nice to know that there really are some new fans, aside from the mass exodus of the past few years. It's not like it used to be, but I guess it's still racing, of a sort. They just announced yesterday some massive changes for the Xfinity and Truck Series. Those have me choking, so for the moment, I'm ignoring them. I just posted a new article this afternoon on the induction of Curtis Turner to the Hall of Fame tomorrow. That one is all about a wonderful racer from another time. I hope you catch it when you have time. Curtis was "Something else!" :)
