Temporary public land closure in Maricopa County for off-highway vehicle race—The Bureau of Land Management Hassayampa Field Office announces the temporary closure of public lands in Maricopa County for the Vulture Mine Off-Road Challenge official permitted off-highway vehicle race. The dates for the temporary closure will occur February 9-11.
The Vulture Mine Off-Road Challenge races have occurred annually since 2001. The races are widely attended by the local community, local racers, and those interested in future racing careers.
Public safety is a top priority for the BLM, and a temporary closure for this event will provide for the safety of the public and race participants. All public lands located on the interior of the race course, as well as the race course itself, will be temporarily closed to public entry, unless specified otherwise. Maps and information regarding the designated race course and impacted temporary closure area are available at the BLM Hassayampa Field Office located at 21605 N. 7th Ave., in Phoenix.
