I think RG's frustration today came from thinking there would be more dunes and it ended up being some dunes, some roads and a flat out run on the beach which obviously hurt him and the team!
But it has to be a little bit of a love/hate for the ASO. They want to see Stephan win or a factory or Loeb but they have to like the fan interest they get from RG!

Yep. You would think that tapping the US market might be of interest to them, but it just never seems that way.

Correct. Assumption that the stage would be full of dunes, actually very few where his cars are slow

I get why, but even though it's just begun I kinda wish he would have just entered in the SxS category. Seems like it would have been better to have won that class or at least compete vs being handcuffed in the cars cat. He still could have measured himself against the filed in the overall, right? Or maybe there are stage differences between the classes that would have prohibited this comparison???

Also, what is the Original Class all about? Hunt's Husq just looks like a bike to me,

Original is the old Malle Moto class. Same class different name. If you aren't familiar, there is NO support and you have to work on your own bike. Everything to support has to fit in one box. You get x # of tires and have to carry your wheels to the tire installer and carry them back. You have to CAMP in a tent at the bivouac. That is a totally crazy class.

It was fun following Lyndon Poskitt the last two years with Robby out. He's not doing it this year, but last he had a crew documenting and production 10+ minute videos every day. The editor would literally edit in the support vehicle. I would be sick for sure. If you have free time, go back and watch last years effort. It was so good!

WOW. Thx MB. Not sure how/why I didn;t know about this, but will definitely be looking at this more. Badass!!

I forgot to mention, Lyndon travels all over the world (search Races to Places). To get to Dakar last year, he started in Alaska and rode all the way to Argentina to the start.

Problem SxS does not get the coverage of the cars , Bikes and Trucks

No Sebastian Loeb does not have that money and as entered as a private entry

He still gets plenty of $$ from Red Bull to run his private entry. He just doesn't have money from the manufacture.

And he is driving a Peug... so...

He is getting no manufacturers support,he is driving the old 2018 car.RG has all new cars and he has three of them
