Saudi Arabia is +8 hours on Eastern Time / +11 on the West Coast.

January 5th-10th, the Rally Raid starts in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and races North East before racing to South Eastern city of Riyadh.

January 11th, Rest Day Riyadh

January 12th-17th, the Rally Raid continues from Riyadh through the South Eastern area of Saudi Arabia before heading to West, finishing in Qiddiya.

the team that crashed themselves where Martin Prokop's water carriers #339 Martin Kolomy/ Jiri Stross, both where transported to the hospital. Kolomy appeared to have a neck injury by the FB photo posted by Martin Prokop.

342 vehicles have been cleared to start the 42nd edition of the Dakar after three days of technical and administrative scrutineering at King Abdullah Stadium: 114 motorbikes, 23 quads, 83 cars, 45 SSVs and 46 trucks. French competitors make up the largest national contingent with 109 riders, drivers and co-drivers, followed by Spain (75) and the Netherlands (50). Among them, 13 women will put on their helmets for the inaugural stage to Al Wajh. A total of 68 nationalities are represented, including support crews.
