08:12 Al-Attiyah slapped with penalty
Nasser Al-Attiyah has been handed down a 3-minute penalty after stage 3 for not letting a competitor through despite hearing the aural warnings of the Sentinel device several times. As a result, he is now ranked fifth in the stage.
10:39 Al-Rajhi takes control
Yazeed Al-Rajhi is back on the attack in the first part of stage 4 and has set the fastest time after 55 km of racing, with 10 seconds to spare over Orlando Terranova. Stéphane Peterhansel and Nasser Al-Attiyah are also within 20 second.
11:22 Alonso fizzles out
Fernando Alonso seems to have lost some of the magic he displayed in stage 3. The Toyota driver has already conceded 8 minutes to Stéphane Peterhansel after 100 km of racing.
16:06 Peterhansel takes the spoils
Stéphane Peterhansel is back in the game with his first stage win in Al Ula. The Frenchman quickly took control of the race and claimed the stage with 2'26' to spare over a rock-solid Nasser Al-Attiyah.

First stage win for DAKAR rookie Mitch Guthrie
11:46 Farrés in trouble
The first part of today's special has not been kind to yesterday's winner, Gerard Farrés. The talented former biker has lost almost 11 minutes in 55 km!
15:16 Domżała and 'Chaleco' fighting for the win
Aron Domżała and Francisco 'Chaleco' López are really duking it out. The meagre difference of 29 seconds at km 100 has shrunk further to just 20 seconds after 243 km!
18:14 Guthrie by 19 seconds!
It's only taken Dakar rookie Mitchell Guthrie four days to take his first stage win. The 23-year-old American beat Aron Domżała by a mere 19 seconds. Meanwhile, José Antonio Hinojo has risen to the top of the general classification.
This Dakar just doesn't line up well with my time schedule. Bummer. Thanks MK for the updates.
True that, it does not line up with sleep schedule at all.
