Stage 1 - Saturday, January 3
Buenos Aires > Santa Rosa
Connection: 196 km | Special: 371 km | Connection: 166 km | Total: 733 km
Many have heard of La Pampa, where men are reputed to be “rough, but always courteous”. This first stage will provide the opportunity to discover the length of these vast plains. Dakar competitors have never faced such a long special. With over 400 km of rolling routes, perhaps the fastest on the program, this will constitute a real warm-up.

peterhansel made up alot of time in last part of stage, maybe robby will
Whats the deal with the live tracking?
No Idea
Robby in 19th place after passing through checkpoint #3. over 10 minutes back.
BMW seems fast this year
Exactly. A great driver that usually shows pretty well in the ASO Dakar races. No one should be surprised to see him doing well. BMW has been strong also.
Shows Robby 14 minutes 25 seconds behind for stage one.
finished 14 minutes out? wonder what happened, seemed to be with the field at the begining.
who knows..... i'm sure we will get some sort of update from the team by tomorrow. or late tonight if were lucky
yeah shows Robby in 8th 14minutes behind the lead. i think he can make that up no problem.
yup! a couple of stage wins before the end of this.. and Robby will be right up there in contention again. :)
Remember Robby's engine combination hurt's for top end speed with the restictor in the air intake, all the diesel turbo's are going to kick his ass. We need rough terrian to do well.
