Join us for the Dakar Rally's third day on Jan 5, 2009 , right here and chat about the action during the 3rd stage.

Stage 3 - Monday, January 5
Puerto Madryn > Jacobacci
Connection: 70 km | Special: 616 km | Connection: 8 km | Total: 694 km
For the third day of the race, the special program is a tough one, ranging over 600 km. It will be a sign that the competitors have reached the heart of the matter, even though big problems are still to come. The entry into Patagonia, which will be accompanied by a significant change in terrain, will need new piloting abilities. The landscape is much hillier, and those who prefer long curves will find what they’re looking for. Here, orientation is done using the lakes that border the route, around ten throughout the day, and numerous pink flamingoes will be the preferred guides for this stage.

I'm just happy we found him...lol.. it was starting to feel like a game of "wheres waldo?"....lol
Where did you find that info? my tracker or breaking news did not mention rooby???
Man, Al's Bemmer is fast. He is going to win this stage, and if he had not gotten lost yesterday, that would have been 3 stages in a row. Reminds me of the time when BMW entered for the first time when the Dakar raced to Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt, they had the fastest top end speed across the sahara flats.
I still say tracker is broken, as mentioned before, not showing at 143,

Here's what is currently posted. Jack, if you can confirm where you got your lateset info from we would all be thankful!
Here is the breaking news
17:26 - Car

302 - Al-Attiyah confirms at CP2
As the first 5 cars have now crossed CP2 at km 434 of today’s special stage, Qatar’s Nasser Al-Attiyah (BMW) is still in the lead of the stage, 2’44" ahead of Spain’s Carlos Sainz (VW), who is back in the race after experiencing a bit of trouble earlier in the day and 3’38" ahead of Germany’s Dieter Depping (VW).

Why are they not showing up on the tracker? Tracker is broken,..

Went here from a different source , don't know why other tracker is wrong
go to the main dakar tracking web page. in the block that has "current race order".. there will be a number of how many cars have crossed the check points.. CP-1 or CP-2. click on the actual number and it takes you to a page and will list who has crossed the check point.. heres a link
