January 3rd-8th, the Rally Raid starts in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and races South than East before racing to North to the city of Ha'il.

January 9th, Rest Day Ha'il

January 10th-15th, the Rally Raid continues from Ha'il through the North Eastern area of Saudi Arabia before heading to West, than South along the Red Sea, finishing in Jeddah.

12:30 One more for the road for Sainz
Yazeed Al-Rajhi has broken his engine several kilometres from the finishing line! The Saudi driver was battling for victory with Carlos Sainz but is now having to await his assistance team, enabling his rival from Madrid to soar away to his third stage success of the year. Sainz, who ran into misfortune several times, finishes the rally on the third step of the final podium, more than one hour behind his team-mate Stéphane Peterhansel.

Stéphane Peterhansel has done it! Assisted by his new co-pilot Édouard Boulanger, on the last special the Frenchman has withstood the attacks from the duo of Nasser Al-Attiyah and Matthieu Baumel to obtain his eighth overall triumph on the Dakar in the car category and his 14th title overall on the most prestigious of rally-raids. What’s more, “Mister Dakar” has triumphed 30 years after his first crown on a bike in 1991.

12:53 Meeke leads while López loses a little time
Kris Meeke leads the dance at WP1 with a lead of more than two minutes over Reinaldo Varela and Aron Domżała. Austin Jones, the main threat to Chaleco López in the fight for the title, trails the stage leader by more than three minutes, but has a similar sized cushion over the Chilean general standings leader. For the moment, Chaleco is still on course for the title.

Kris Meeke has won his second special of the year. The British driver, who has experienced ups and downs during the 12 stages of the rally, finished the day with a lead of more than three minutes over Cristina Gutiérrez and Reinaldo Varela. Chaleco finished 12’30’’ behind the stage winner and conceded a little less than 2’30’’ to Austin Jones, his main rival for the title. However, this was not sufficient for the American. Following his success in 2019, “Chaleco” has obtained his second triumph on the Dakar.
