Robby Gordon will NOT be competing.

Saudi Arabia is +8 hours on Eastern Time / +11 on the West Coast.

December 31st, the Rally Raid starts in Sea Camp, Saudi Arabia and races North than South East before racing to North to the city of Dammam.

BRABEC FALLS AND EXITS THE RALLY | GP

The Honda rider has suffered a fall after 274 km of the special and is now in the hands of the Dakar medical team. With pain in his cervical vertebrae, Ricky Brabec has been transported to hospital for further examinations of his condition. In 2020, he became the first American winner of the Dakar and the man to put a stop to 18 consecutive victories by KTM in the bike category.

Daniel Sanders has accomplished the best time on the day’s special. The Australian, who did not have to open the way, has proved to be sufficiently quick enough to keep ahead of his rivals who accumulated bonuses, such as Skyler Howes and especially Mason Klein, both of whom trailed Sanders by more than 6’ at the finishing line.

WEATHER: BIKE RACE HALTED AT CP2 AND CP3

The degradation in weather conditions has made it no longer possible for the organisers to guarantee the best safety conditions for the competitors, so the riders have been halted at CP 2 (after 335 km) and CP3 (after 377 km). The times will be maintained for the riders who have reached the finishing line. For the others, calculations will be made for each of the riders in accordance with the average accomplished on the first part of the stage in order to attribute a finishing time to them.

Thanks Mike, what a day for the competitors. Let's hope Brabec's injury isn't severe and he can get back to competing soon. Ok, back to watching the links. I'm still adjusting to it being 2023 already,
as we get another snow storm.
