Stage 11 canceled

As the weather forcast for tomorrow announces heavy fog on the whole route of stage 11 and as the timing of the stage cannot be altered due to the crossing of the Andes and the crossing of the border between Chile and Argentina, the organizers of the Dakar have decided to cancel the portion of stage 11 between Copiapo and Fiambala that should have been against the clock. The participants will be getting to the Fiambala bivouac in liaison.

WTF?

What a crock!!! What.. did the BMW's need extra time to repair thier vehicles after today??? GEEZZZ.. that just sucks.. This would of been another good day for the hummer.
They no he's coming, they can try, but they ain't gonna keep him off the podium- JK on the conspriracy a bit, but the restrictor plate stuff RG said sounds pretty on it, is Volkswagon the official sponsor of the Baja 1000 and the Dakar?
Hey Guys, relax...they are crossing the Andes..... I want Robby to be on the podium as much as everybody else, but at what costs? Maybe they will add to another stage to compensate....It is what it is. That's racing
you right, except that ain't racing- those are office decisions- Racing gets settled ON the track. I know you can't control the weather obvioustly, and you got to keep thing's as safe as you can, but this the Dakar, and I just think the shorter the venue, the more it favor's the quick and nimble little rocket's with less time for the Hummer to shine, but oh well, they can keep throwing changes, restrictor plate's and whatever else, I think RG is gonna find a way to get it done, maybe a Toy.
Could be. Currently only 25 of the 109 cars that started today's stage have finished.
well that means that stage 12 will be Robby's to win! full of sand dunes.
the altitude probably wouldn't do the restricted motor well anyway, so machts nichts...
As much as we're disappointed, imagine how the Mitsubishi team feels. They're less than an hour behind a podium.
Actually stage 11 is not what we want 12 and 13 are.
I think this will be a net gain for Robby, given the altitude problems with the Hummer's Corvette big-block.

Skipping a stage where he'd almost assuredly fall further behind Sainz is a good thing
I just don't think they should cancel a whole stage. If it's timeing for crossing the border as they say.. then they need to run stage 12 twice for 2 different stages. or come up with something to replace a section of racing.
Great bunch
