Stage 12 - Thursday, January 15

Fiambala > La Rioja

Connection: 4 km | Special: 253 km | Connection: 261 km | Total: 518 km
As concerns crossings, the day’s special is a concentrate of technique. Various types of dunes will be encountered, including the very formidable “white dunes”. Just three days from arrival, this stage can scramble rankings, especially because the assistance vehicles will not have access to the Fiambala bivouac. The Golden Rule is still: “know how to economize your machine”.

This should be a great stage for Robby, and I hope the VW's get stuck in the dunes !

So this was to be a marathon stage. 11 and 12.... have no support between... but they cancelled 11... that sux

Dunes, dunes, dunes; moving to 4th overall isn't a long shot. Someone's gonna get hit hard this stage, just a hunch!

Question, is there a stage (or 2) that is coming up where night time maintenance is only allowed to be done by a support vehicle participating in the event? (read this mentioned on another teams report) And Robby's is withdrawn from the event.

The race vehicles are in the same Bivy tonight as had been planned for the "Marathon Stage". All of the support have already moved on to tomorrow night's Bivy. So the answer is; there is no outside support tonight in prep for tomorrow's stage.

My guess is that 2 out of the 3 top VW's have problems tomorrow.. RG will pass Roma on time to move into fourth!! Good day to continue to run flawlessly and gain some time.
