Stage 11 - Wednesday, January 14

Copiapo > Fiambala

Connection: 20 km | Special: 215 km | Connection: 445 km | Total: 680 km
On this most majestic stage of the rally, the talents of copilots will be at the strategic center. In the morning, vehicles will leave the Pacific Ocean behind and head toward the border. In the meantime, it will be necessary to constantly choose which valley to take. The return to Argentina will be through the enchanting surroundings of the Paso San Francisco, at an altitude of nearly 4,700 meters. To close this long “day of colors”, the link will lead competitors to a sandy landscape that resembles Mauritania. And if fate lends a hand, the rally could even experience a “Bolivian winter” there, a rare phenomenon that sometimes provokes snowfalls in the middle of summer!

Sainz is tired. He needs a rest. And besides RG finnally has that beast saddled and is stealing their thunder. We are all expecting too much out of the ASO. What happened....did NASCAR infect the ASO.....or maybe it is the other way around. When we loose a moto rider (God rest his sole), the ASO's nuts shrivel up (as if they have any) and if they start cancelling the action. Excuse me, but I'm a little PO'd right now. &^#$$%^&&*())))(*^$#@@!!!!!!!!
You know this isn't the first time a rider has died.....
Good Morning everyone...I'm thinking some people will still be here out of habit this morning...lol..

Well at 3:45 am the dogs started barking to go outside.. I got up, let them go and made a pot of coffee and settled in here on the planet like I do most mornings. Looking at pictures and checking out the latest video updates. I figured I would at least start the day with the ritual good morning on the day's stage, even if its not running. :)
SUCKS that we dont race today. hes not gonna get a chance to make up time. Now only Thursday and Friday as Saturday is a short "parade" if I recall. Unless someone blows up in front, he will likely finish 4th.
While I was working yesterday you people must have been on the edge of your seats. Now today your at home tring to get your fix some how.
I will be catching up on my sleep today, so I won't be doing any updates until mid-afternoon.I have a slew of fresh media to upload to the site , so check back often. Get ready for stage 12 tomorrow !
anny one now how the injured bike rider is doing????last I herd he was in bad shape..
I read a little bit on him last night, head injury, they drilled a hole in his head to relieve pressure. In serious condition but stable was in one report and another added that it was not life threatening. Father of four.

I am okay with a day off, if they can't get it in they can't get it in, you wouldn't start any race without proper medical aid in place and by what's been said in various articles, they don't want the teams out on dunes in the dark (or coming into camp) and not knowing the terrain in that area personally, not sure how this happens or what is showing when there's areas of the dunes that have no sand??? I'm guessing just huge rock formations and our race vehicles aren't rock climbers.

I've caught up again on all video, audio and photos again, thanks to all that take the time to put them up for us.
This could play in RG's favor. Have you looked at Stage 12? Majority of it will be spent in the dunes. Starting seconds behind could allow them to go for the lead early on, and hopefully, never look back!
