I must tell you all, I have met RG, not that it matters here, one of my best friends and I have been on board with RG for a very long time. since Indy days. We were talking today and we chatted about Robby for a minute and he told me that while he was wearing his RG hat someone asked him if he was an actual RG fan. While he said yes. He was ridiculed about why. My friend said; yes I am a fan and it is almost work to be a fan of RG because he has the ability to be drive and win in a car that is equal to the best. Both friend and I continue to be fans, because we believe. Sometimes we question RG. But thats our right as fans. But we both have met him and he may remember us or not, but we still follow RG. Probably always will. ROLL ON ROBBY! (from the Cummins crowd)

but yet the same few always flip out when RG isnt in the car, after being told time & time again that he is only running 16-20 races this year....
Skipdog - I did not say he was not a fan. What I was saying was that the answer to his question has been asked over and over with the same amount of answers. If he had spent a few minutes to read some of the posts he could have answered his question. Instead he posts in a thread about being a Robby fan. Just as in January he asked a if RG was running a full year in someone's blog.

I did imply the question of him being a fan for the simple fact he is not new here, but still asked that question. Was I an a$$, YES. Do I feel bad about it, NO!
YOU ARE ALL CLASS THERE BIG GUY!
Fan or not, if he's too lazy to read the thread, and expects immediate answers to his inane question (one that's been asked and answered so many time it's ridiculous) then he deserves to be dressed down. When he displays the intelligence and motivation of a Jr. fan, it's easy to suggest that's where he should go.
THANKS,
We need some Planet Robby swag such as a bright orange T shirt with the Planet Robby logo on the back and 16-20 really big on the front. That said it just feels good being a Robby fan I started back in the early Mickey Thompson races first watching Bob then Robby. It doesn't really matter how long you've been at it just that you have been good or bad. I'll be a RG fan till he steps out of the car for the last time and then my hope is to be able to root for "His" drivers as a team owner, Nuff said.
A M E R I C A !! Freedom of choice. Free to follow any race driver for any reason. I'm going to see Motley Crue in a few hours...5th row! Many people hate The CRUE because of sex, drugs, booze, jail, tattoos, death, profanity. But that is their choice. I choose to like the music along with millions of fans around the world. I can enjoy any form of music, follow any race car driver, drive any vehicle I want too and I am free to choose SPEED over Amp and Rockstar.
Totally agree with you Mike, freedom of choice about a great many things.

Going to see the Crue..... Cool !! There's no need to tell you to have a great time is there ? Didn't think so ! LOL
My last "concert" The Greatful Dead and also my last, now on to racing in Mich...........
Dude, ease up on the yelling / cap letters.
It's okay...this is a fan page.
I apologize in advance for the long post.

Before this goes too much further I don't see the merit in questioning if someone is a fan because they missed out, forgot or unwittingly repeated the same question that has been asked and answered an unbelievable number of times on here. It gets damned annoying for sure and the mods are usually saints when dealing with the same stuff over and over. Some of us are old school Robby fans and others are more recent fans. The bottom line is after watching Robby on track and having talked to him immediately after losing the Indy 500 to Villeneuve, he didn't question my loyalty to him or his program. He always takes time to speak to people in a polite and gracious manner at the trailer regardless of their appearance (think socio-economics). He has even stopped the driver of his golf cart to say hello, shake hands and sign an autograph for us fans on many occasions when other drivers would just motor on . I've had multiple short conversations with Robby, Beccy, their mother and they are all equally unassuming and gracious to the fans. This devotion and respect shown to the fans repeats itself all over the world; the original Dakar, South America, Europe, Baja...not just the big tracks like Indy or Daytona.

We all have different levels of interest, but each of us knows we are fans...much like the great fisherman analogy told earlier in this thread. If you think someone is not as engaged (or as smart) as they should be perhaps we should just ignore them and they may just go away. I have made plenty of mistakes of my own on here and am trying to be a better fan.
I was a Ernie Irvan fan for years until his crash (crashes) took him out. Remember his nickname Swervin' Irvan? He pissed off and ran over more people until he finally apologized to everyone at a driver's meeting, never forget it. It started the end of old school nascar style driving where the drivers could be drivers. At least lately they are letting the gloves come off a little now.

So had to find a new guy to follow and Robby attracted my attention immediately. Frustrating to follow sometimes yes, amazed at his ability and passion to be on his own and a huge success in a sport that doesn't seem to want him around, HELL YES. Love the dark horses. The guy just rocks and I'm into everything he drives. How can anyone be against a guy that drives Nascar one weekend, Baja the next, and Dakar on the break, it's crazy! He's settled down now, too bad they had drivers so pinned down with the etiquette.rules when he threw the helmet at DW, today that might not be looked at as that bad...what am I saying, if Robby does anything it's double fines, double points, double probabtion.

I pray that Speed does as well as he plans, that he builds an empire as big as red bull, that he be 'the' force to be reckoned with in Nascar one day. Just hope he doesn't stop driving till he can't climb in any longer, maybe a little after that.
