Your last comment here was from me in a year ago????No way.....Hey thanks for the back up remark about Robby being a lawyer.I was really sticking my neck out there, and some here can be brutal in their comments. Happy New Year again, my Indiana friend, Chris
Hey man are you still with us? Havent read anything from you in a while. Also check out RacersReunion on Ning. They have pages from old time drivers and info on everything racing. Joan
Hi B.C.m, thanks for the info on St. Vincents...they did all right for me in 1848 ;-). When you comment back to a person you first must click on " comment back" at the bottom of what you just read....then add comment when you are finished, otherwise you leave the comment on your own page , not the person's page you're talking to. Enjoy the race today, here's hoping Robby has some luck and listens to his CC. He has too good of a starting position to blow it. fingers crossed, Gas on, take care, Chris
Dude..I love the Avatar! I was standing about 20 feet away when this happened.....If Tony's Crew hadn't of jumped in..Robby was going to beat his ass......
St. Vincent's has grown a little bit since you were there. There are four St. Vincent hospitals in Indianapolis alone now. One of them is the Peyton Manning Children's Hospital. I first became aware of Robby when he crashed one of A.J. Foyt's Indy cars on Pole Day at the Motor Speedway. Robby and AJ were both scheduled to qualify their cars that morning and AJ decided after the crash he couldn't be both a responsible owner of Robby' car and a driver in his own car so he retired on the spot. I had a hard place in my heart for Robby for a few years because I grew up rooting for both AJ Foyt and Mario Andretti. I later realized the talent /potential Robby had and became a huge fan.
I was born in Indianapolis in 1948. Is there still a St. Vincent's hospital ? My dad was doing construction work for Eli Lily and we moved when I was 6 months old. I was premature, 2lbs 3 oz, so it took awhile. I've always had a soft spot in my heart for Indianapolis and it's where my dad first got interested in racing,. I've listened too or watched the Indy 500 for 50 years , as a result. That's where I first discovered Robby " doing the double. Had never seen a Nascar race at the time and by a fluke caught him on Speed 4 years ago. I've been a fan ever since. I still have cousins in Evansville. My cousins husband was the head of a private school called "Day" school?? See there are always connections btwn people..
